Peace family! I know it's been a long time, and I'm grateful for the inspiration to post again :).
I am currently reading the Mis-Education of the Negro by Carter Goodwin Woodson, and today I witnessed a number of things that reminded me of what he conveyed through this book in 1933. Today is the Full Moon and Lunar Eclipse in Pisces of 2016, which is a very revolutionary time. One of my favorite astrologists, David Palmer mentioned that this energy is a breakthrough moment where we have the opportunity to run from the past patterns that aren't supporting us and look to the future and the things that bring us strength.
When we were taken from our homeland, we were forced to eat foreign food, forced to speak foreign languages, and forced to practice a foreign religion. Despite our efforts to hold on to what we knew gave us strength, we could not- it simply was not allowed. Our customs, our traditions, and our connections to: each other, those that came before us, the elements, and the Most High were drastically changed and often demonized.
Our abductors exchanged our ways of being with new ways to think, new ways to eat, and new ways to live... ways that were unnatural to our DNA. These types of changes made it impossible to maintain our original mental, physical, emotional, and spiritual state of being. Unfortunately, we have continued to diverge from our authentic state with each generation.
I do not have to list all of the diseases and health issues that we are dealing with, or the amount of mental challenges we are suffering from, or the esteem issues we are constantly working through, or the doubts we are too scared to face due to fear of the wrath of... not God, but the community!
We used to recognize that all are one. We used to understand that love, not fear must be the center of every unit and every spiritual practice... But something happened over the decades and centuries. I am not going to focus on placing blame, but I am asking that we all use this energy from this beautiful Full Moon in Pisces to reflect on all the patterns that you intuitively know work against what YOU are here to create.
The most revolutionary thing you can do is live your truth and create what it is you are here to create. Walk away from thought patterns and actions that do not feel right, and cling to what authentically brings you strength. Choose courage, and above all, choose LOVE- self-love and love for every being- past, present, and future.
"Emancipate yourself from mental slavery. None but our self can free our mind," Bob Marley.
I love you all.
Peace and Blessings,
Brittany, a vulnerable, powerful and courageous leader.
